Mafia Dive Sites
Sefo Reef (Max depth:12m)
Situated far out to sea in the Mafia Channel this site is the haunt
of many large game fish. The reef is in pristine condition because
the site is not dived much due to its accessibility. |
|
Belami Reef (Max depth: 17m)
A beautiful shallow dive with many isolated coral heads and a profusion
of small tropical fish. |
|
Kaule Reef (Max depth: 18m)
Turtles are often seen at Kaule reef and there is a good variety of
coral. Good for night dives due to the profusion of lobster that is
found here. |
|
Kinasi Pass (Max depth: 27m)
At the mouth of Chole Bay, where the sheltered bay meets the open
ocean there is a deep narrow channel through shallower coral on each
side. This channel is home to large Potato Cod, Giant Grouper, Rays,
Morays Snappers and Sweetlips predominantly. Many predators can also
be seen like Barracuda, Trevally, Cobia, Tuna and the occasional shark
prowl. |
|
Chole Wall (Max depth: 15m)
This is both a dive and snorkel site. A steep bank of coral descending
to 15 m, usually with excellent visibility and ending in coral rubble
and sand. A panorama for the diver as there is a startlingly rich
tapestry of corals enveloped in clouds of tiny fish, dominated by
colourful damselfish, fusiliers, numerous butterflyfish and angelfish.
This is an excellent night or introductory dive. |
